Conditions and details taken from the official notice that the table above does not show. Read the notice itself before bidding.

  • The full auction price is payable immediately upon adjudication; otherwise the property is put up for sale again.
  • If the price does not cover them, the successful bidder must pay the outstanding taxes, interest and sale costs.
  • The property is sold without warranty, at the buyer's own risk, in its current condition, with all active or passive, apparent or hidden easements.
  • If the former owner still occupies the property, the buyer may ask them to leave or demand rent, subject to Tribunal administratif du logement rules; disputes may go to court.
  • During the one-year redemption period, the buyer may do no work except essential repairs, and may not remove timber or structures.
  • The former owner may exercise a right of redemption within a year by repaying the sale price and certificate cost with 10% annual interest.
  • The buyer cannot block redemption; if it is exercised, the buyer must separately pursue reimbursement of expenses incurred.
  • If no redemption occurs, the buyer gets a final deed after one year, but must hire a notary at their own expense.

  • The City does not know the condition, title or charges of the properties and has verified neither their physical characteristics nor applicable zoning rules.
  • If a property has a building, the City has no keys and does not notify or make arrangements with occupants.
